The Weaver's Circle

In the heart of this composition, a central figure sits within a circular enclosure, surrounded by a rhythmic procession of tiny, stylised dancers. The work is a quiet meditation on the Mithila tradition, where the act of creation is itself a ritual. The stark contrast of white ink against the deep, almost charcoal background creates a sense of night-time focus. It is not just a picture of a scene, but a map of a movement—restless, continuous, and deeply rooted in the folk memory of the region.

An original fine-liner ink work on paper by Pranjal. This piece features a central motif of a seated figure within a circular frame, encircled by a dense, rhythmic border of small, dancing figures. The artist employs the traditional Madhubani line-work but with a contemporary, minimalist sensibility. The high-contrast palette of white ink on a dark, textured ground gives the piece a striking, modern aesthetic while retaining the soul of the folk tradition.
